Like many email service providers, Omnisend’s pricing is based on your number of contacts – essentially this means the size of your email list. There’s a generous but feature-limited free package available, as well as a free trial of the more premium options.

As is often the case, you pay less for all packages if you opt for an annual contract and pay upfront.

Free

Onmisend’s free package allows you to send up to 15,000 emails per month, regardless of the size of your email list. It’s a good package for smaller businesses, although much of Omnisend’s feature-set is missing. Features such as A/B testing, SMS messaging and access to 24/7 support are only available for those on a paid tier.

Standard

Omnisend’s Standard package starts at $16 per month, or $13 per month for those paying annually. This is based on a 500 contact email list, with the price increasing for larger lists. For example, if you have 10,000 contacts you pay $102 per month or $82 per month for annual payment.

The Standard package adds considerably more functionality, including SMS messaging, although you do have to pay separately for SMS sending credits. Access to 24/7 support is available at this pricing level.

Pro

Pro gives you many more options and costs from $99 per month (or $80 per month when paid annually). You get priority support, social media integration, and extra features for web push notifications. This tier also includes enhanced reporting and additional eCommerce integration options.

Enterprise

Intended for larger businesses, Omnisend Enterprise largely duplicates the “Pro” feature-set, and gives you access to “enterprise-grade customization.” Prices for Enterprise are on application, and you must contact the sales team for a quote.

Since launching as Soundest back in 2014, the company has gained over 50,000 customers, including household names like Unilever and Samsung. Omnisend specializes in email marketing and automation for eCommerce businesses. The solution also provides functionality that spreads beyond email and into SMS-based marketing.

SMS and MMS Capabilities

Omnisend’s functionality around SMS and MMS messaging is a clear distinguishing feature. It makes it a particularly interesting choice for businesses keen to tap into that marketing channel. Omnisend reports that companies utilizing SMS messaging alongside email win 48% more conversions.

Focus on eCommerce

Omnisend’s service is intended specifically for eCommerce businesses, and there are plenty of features included that will appeal to owners of such businesses. For example, integration with your eCommerce platform allows you to trigger messages when shopping carts are abandoned, and you can segment customers based on the products they’ve purchased or shown interest in in the past.

 Social Media Integration

Many businesses make heavy use of social media as part of their sales process, and Omnisend is built with this in mind. You can integrate with Facebook and Instagram, retarget previous customers, and create “Lookalike audiences.”

There’s also synchronization with Google Customer Match, and web push notifications on offer, giving you a host of different ways to get in front of customers. It’s worth noting that these features are only available in the Pro and Enterprise versions of the software.

Marketing Automation

Not that long ago, there was a clear distinction between email marketing solutions and fully-fledged marketing automation systems. Nowadays the boundary is rather more blurred, and Omnisend is definitely a system that’s strong on automation.

Omnisend offers lots of ways to configure flows of messages that branch off depending on customer actions. Unsurprisingly, many of the predefined automations are aimed at those with eCommerce businesses.

Over 50 Integrations

Omnisend can readily integrate with over 50 different systems. These range from eCommerce platforms like Shopify, PrestaShop and Magento, to review providers such as Judge.me and Junip. Once again, the platform’s focus on eCommerce businesses is clear from the systems Omnisend can plug into.

Omnisend’s selection of templates isn’t enormous. There are around 20 in total, including five specifically for newsletters. The selection covers all of the main bases, and the templates themselves are attractive, modern and mobile-friendly. If you decide to create your own templates or edit an existing one, the editor is slick and easy to use – if slightly light on features.

Ease of use is an area where Omnisend really excels. The user interface is attractive and rather “Apple-like,” and even the more complicated features like automations are easy to understand and get to grips with. The ease of use is further enhanced by a great selection of training resources.
